OUR MISSION & VISION
BAJI Action Fund’s mission is to advance the rights of Black migrants and African Americans at the local, state and federal level by advancing policies, legislation and ballot initiatives that promote a just society, fully inclusive of the Black Diaspora. BAJI Action Fund also advances its mission by engaging in civic engagement campaigns that mobilize our communities to participate in the democratic process by registering and educating voters and non-voters on issues, candidates and ballot initiatives.
BAJI Action Fund’s strategic initiatives drive progress towards a more inclusive multiracial democracy through the power building of Black Diasporic communities in the United States. BAJI Action Fund prioritizes systemic solutions by focusing on the needs, challenges, and aspirations of the most vulnerable members of our Black Diasporic communities. We believe that in pushing for policies, laws, and narratives that bring justice and equity to our most vulnerable community members, we co-create equity and justice for our larger Black Diasporic communities and the nation.
Our community is the Black Diaspora in the US which includes Black migrants and refugees as well as African Americans. Our work supports those existing at the margins of society:
- Working class people
- Women
- Femmes and girls
- LGBTQ people
- Undocumented and under-documented migrants
- Criminalized people
- People with disabilities
